I arrived early to beautiful Pupukea Beach Park on Oahu's north shore and found it packed. A sunny summer Saturday brings flocks of beach goers every time. But when I felt the cool drops on my face I knew we were saved. North shore natives know that if you wait a few minutes, the shower will be gone and that's what I did. As the tourists shoved towels and sunscreen in their bags and hurried to their cars, I closed my eyes and waited for the rain to pass. By the time the ceremony began, the beach was dry and almost free of people.
I love that Brandon and Natalie incorporated their son so integrally in their ceremony. Their relationship is different with a family dynamic and they chose to celebrate that, renewing their vows as a new and budding family. Plus he's adorable.
It was a lovely ceremony on an outcropping overlooking the ocean where they shared new vows with each other, focusing on their past, present, and future. In their own words, it has only been the tip of the iceberg.
Afterwards we headed down to the beach to celebrate and get some pictures. The mood was perfect. Relaxed and content.
Congratulations, Brandon and Natalie, on your first five years and here's to your next fifty.
